Meet the Team

Heather Anyon,   President

Heather and her husband originally moved to Florida in April of 2015, by October they had bought their own home and began fostering for Hillsborough County’s pet resource center. Shortly after she joined another rescue and gained a lot of knowledge over the last couple of years. She spends her free time taking pictures at the shelter in hopes of helping dogs be seen by good adopters. She has 4 dogs, Oliver, Charley, Cole, & Willow, and two cats, Patches and Rex. Between the end of 2015 and end of 2018 Heather fostered close to 30 dogs.

Mandy Lail, Vice President

Mandy began fostering dogs for her friend’s rescue back in 2009 while living in NC. She eventually married her high school sweetheart and they made their move to FL in 2013 shortly after they got married. Mandy began to foster for a local Florida rescue about 3 years ago. She has fostered many dogs over her total 10 years involved in fostering dogs for rescues. However, her one true love is the overlooked plain brown dogs filling the overcrowded county shelters. She and her husband have 7 dogs (most of which are brown) . . . Lacy, Abby, Calvin, Oliver, Gretta, Amos, and Mack. All of their dogs are rescues, and most are fosters that never left their home or strays Mandy found wandering the streets here in Florida or back in her home state of NC.

Nia Amtmann, Treasurer

Nia first got started volunteering at the shelter back in 2014 where she committed her weekends to walking dogs under investigation, giving love to dogs who may have never had anyone to give them positive attention before. Now you can and Nia at the shelter most Sunday afternoons. Nia has two dogs that she has adopted over the years, Tucker, a 70lb cur mix, and Jax a 4 year old pittie mix who came to the shelter with a bad case of demodex.
